He describes how the act of photographing the political, cultural, and educational visits Africans made to the United States created a space for the imagination of international cooperation and friendship. Newbury also pays close attention to the ways in which the American government presented the civil rights struggle as an example of democracy in action and explores the world of inetgration and racial coexistence that US officials attempted to depict. | ||
